Christina Marie Runner, aka "Chrissy"

When Chuck and I got married I wanted children right away, but he wanted to wait a few years before starting our family. Well, as usual, most of the time I get my way if I want it bad enough and about 4 months later I was pregnant with Chrissy. Although ultimately it's up to God. My pregnancy with her was the absolute worst one. I was sick almost the whole time and had gal stones at the end of my pregnancy. She wasn't due until the last day of May and arrived on April 21st, 1996. It was a long labor that ended in a c-section, but with a beautiful baby waiting for me when I woke up. She was just perfect! The doctor had said since she came so early that she might not even weigh 5lb, well, she was 6lb. 8oz. That's pretty big for being that early and she was perfectly healthy, not a thing wrong with her.

Chrissy had colic when she was a few months old for a while and that was really trying, but she was well worth it. After that she was the most smiley baby who would go to almost anyone. She was the first baby on my side of the family and the first GIRL on Chuck's side. As she got a little older I had put her in some pageants at the Piqua mall. She placed second overall, I was so proud of her. If she only had more hair. lol She was almost bald for the longest time and now has so much thick, coarse hair. When she was 4 I put her in the "Little miss Poultry Days" pageant. She didn't even place although she should have. I'm not just saying that because she is my daughter. So many folks came up to me afterward and said that she deserved to win because of how well she done. When Ken asked her where she got her basket from, she told him "at the goodwill!" I was so embarrassed, but it was so funny. She participated in that pageant one more year and that was it. From then on she has been somewhat of a tomboy. She doesn't like dresses and girlie stuff too much.

Now she is a 7th grader at Versailles jr. high and I couldn't be more proud of her. She is a good student and a good girl. She is helpful around the house and loves the little ones very much even though she fighst with her sisters constantly. I guess that's what is to be expected when you have 4 daughters. She does so much to help me with any foster child we get and she gets almost as excited as I do when we get phone calls to get another little one. She is a very loving young lady and shows it in her own way. She loves her family alot and we love her, she is everyone's BIG SISTER. But she will always be my baby.
